Just browsing through some backstage photos from the Paris 06 fall shows, and spotted the collars on these Kim Jones shirts. What a simple touch that just brings so much to the collar - it's all in the details. These are beautiful.
This time Sophnet have collaborated with Danner to produce these amazing boots. They are available over at Slamjam but their beauty certainly carries a price tag. All the details on these boots are beautiful and of the highest quality; Sophnet are swiftly becoming my favourite JP brand. Literally every piece I have seen from them is an absolute gem this season, and it's been the same since I first came across them a few years ago.
"Oi Polloi have collaborated with R.Newbold to create a clothing range that will be exclusively sold in Oi Polloi and Japan"
Found this over on Crookedtounges other brands forum and really caught my eye so had to stick it up on here. There's something really great about grey outwear and this just looks like something a bit special. The pricing sounds great on this as well, retailing at around £145-170, I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for one of these this winter.
Came across this guy while reading this months Lodown magazine and found some interesting bits in his collection. They're not all to my taste but i really like these shoes and this final look from his autum/winter 06/07 collection.

Self indulgence it may be, but hey, it's my blog. I made this at Uni today and I'm really happy with it. It's basically a diary for me to document the life of my jeans over my final year of studying, looking at the wear process and how they become part of my life taking on my shape etc. The diary will be carried in the back pocket of the jeans so it will also take on part of the life of its subject.
Another brand that I'm totally feeling right now is Final Home. They have a cool as fuck aesthetic with no real exterior branding; such a plus in the current climate. There's a fantastic choice of materials, interesting cuts and plenty of zips and fastenings all over the place. I'm having me one of these for the winter.
I just got these jeans in the post today from the excellent people at Skull. I found out about them from a friend on Superfuture, and have been searching for a slim fitting decent weight selvedge denim to run a wear project. The second I saw these jeans I was like 'those are the ones'. A really solid cut in my opinion, not too flashy and nice natural patch and red tab but other wise plain. I got this model, the 5010xx, in the 1 wash state as I'm impatient and couldn't wait for the new batch of raws due in at the end of October.
The other fantastic thing about these jeans is that the people who run the label are so helpful over email and speak excellent English, making ordering direct from Japan a breeze. I received mine in 4 days and that's including a weekend! I can't praise the service enough really. Check these guys out, you will not be disappointed. http://www.fabfour.co.jp/netshop/babe/showcase/list_btm001.html
Again Sophnet are bringing to the table the kind of collaborations that are worthwile doing - the ones that make a wow product, and this one certainly is. I'm sure I'll never get to hold one but I bet they look and feel amazing, as all Smedley jumpers do.
I'm not to sure what the status of Vexed Generation is now. I'd love to find out more about them if anyone knows. The labels name came up in conversation with a friend when we were talking about Aitor Throups work. I Googled them as they weren't a label I'd ever come across and what I discovered was something really interesting. I love this outwear, particulary the shapes in the hoods and the labels use of technical materials makes for exciting stuff. I would love to have been around in the late 90s and early 00s to check these pieces in person.
A couple of posts back I showed a picture from style.com of Aitor's work on the catwalk at London Fashion Week, and just found this great image of his BA collection on his site. I really like Aitor's work; the lines are clean, the colours work fantasticly. I'm a real fan of greys and the touches of red just set it all off. I'd love to own some of these clothes!Absolutely beautiful stuff and his fashion illustrations are also fantastic. http://www.aitorthroup.com/
This guy makes fucking cool clothes basically. This jacket is beautiful, the shape is exciting, the hood cuts an interesting shape when pulled over, looks pretty terrorist I guess. I would really love to try this jacket on although I know it would result in me buying it!
I love this aesthetic, as you can all tell this is a look I love time and time again. I just think the oversized tops work, it looks fantastic everytime I see it. These are examples from Kim Jones, another of my favourite menswear designers. (pics stolen from style.com)
I certainly didnt expect to be revisiting these in all my dreams,But i dropped a fw hints to a good friend who happend to be at magic and what can i say i got hooked up!chrisand mike i owe you big time especially you mike for giving up your own to get these for me.it will not be for gotten. So down to the shoes the materials on these baskets are fantastic the attention to detail first class, with poka cloth for the fom stripes and embrioded HRH insoles.A great little promotional release from puma.
So supreme harajuku tokyo opened this evening well this afternoon mid morning western time,I grabed the pics of the tshirt that got released with the opening of the store from hypebeast you can check out the rest of the pics and a small write up over there.store looks real nice as you would expect from any supreme store. And siimple as this box logo tee with the date on the back is id bloddy love one.
I finally got my pair of these, arrived in the post this morning from a good friend in singapore,Im not to sure if varvatos line is getting stocked in the uk?Anyways so what are they like in the flesh, they are bloody comfy ,good looking on,only downpiont is the odd painted outsoles that are painted a off white i guess to give a vinage effect,i knew these wernt to my liking the second i inspected it,so straight to raid the girlfriends nail polish remover 20 mins later these were exactly how i think they should be.i lift traces of the paint on partly as i got bored removing it,and partly as a nod to the vintage effects.Im really happy as you can tell with these.
I never thought id see the day,we used to stock OTS in a store i worked in and it was always a patchy seller,Since then they guys up at goodnorth seem to have raised the bar,the footwear line has some really nice models in it particulary the wedmore model avalible in suede or leather both offering a really great smarter alternative, they are a bit visvim like in shape dare i make the comparison in fact i prefer these in shape to the fbt.OTS out wear has also really taken a step up and deserves some attention ive picked out a couple of my favorites and its well worth checking out their webstore as its all on discount at the minute and prices look great. www.goodnorth.com
spotted this over at the hypebeast,I ve been going through a black fave at the minute but damn theres nothing like a bright blue north face to snap me out of that way of thinking, always had a thing for bright blue jackets!this one looks cool.Im not quite sue what the collab details are but thats not really so important jacket looks cool.end of story basically.
Yeap these have been covered everywhere already so no new news,I picked these up on the weekend chill little que nice to catch up with a few people, hideout put on a interesting change to the usual shoe release by emptying the store of everything bar the shoes and just having the store sell the shoes for the day,I think it was a cool idea and a fitting way to release the shoe.Footscape woven for me is a interesting hybrid of 2 shoes i love to look at but cant really wear, putting the 2 together really works for me,hideouts use of materials in this project has been so refreshing after the barrage of croc prints and patents from nike of late, these feel classy and grown up and reflect their creaters very well.Great release handled very well.
